Global Projects is a registered participant of the 5th Annual Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for the Victims of Sexual Trafficking sponsored by the Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking (IAST) and awareness raising effort of The Salvation Army, and the Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAAST), a partnership of Christian ministries working collectively to bring hope and healing to victims of human trafficking.
Join us in a time of prayer for those held captive. The weekend event is scheduled for September 22-24, 2010 but we will continue to pray day after day for their release. CLICK HERE to Download a list of prayers on which to focus.
“Is not this the kind of fasting have chosen: o loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, o set the oppressed free nd break every yoke?
~ Isaiah 58:6 ~
Globally:Twenty-seven million people are enslaved in various forms of sexual and labor exploitation, more than at the height of the trans-atlantic slave trade. (K. Bales) UNICEF reports that across the world, there are more than one million children entering the sex trade every year and that approximately 30 million children have lost their childhood through sexual exploitation over the past 30 years. The U.S. Department of State estimates that approximately 800,000 persons —mostly women and children — are trafficked across national boarders annually.
Global Projects is pleased to partner with The Salvation Army in the Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking for this awareness campaign.

Human Trafficking is a world-wide problem. Not only does it impacts girls from Africa, Europe and Asia but right here in the United States. Many of our young girls who are thought to be runaways are often lured away or kidnapped and sold for profit often right in their own neighborhoods. This atrocity must stop.
